I'm in!

WHAAAHOOOO!!! I got an e-mail just a few hours ago from the editor of The Courier and Press. He said they'll take me on this summer during SIJ! I'm so excited! I was getting really worried about not having a paper yet to do my externship for, and here he is, saying they'll be happy to work with me! HAPPY! Yeah, I'm in awe right now. God's so good.

Today Anders and I hired our new staff members. It was such a blast telling people they're hired on! Everyone got excited. I have a good feeling about next year's staff. We're gonna have a lot of growing up to do... me especially. OMG, I am the editor-in-chief! How did I get here??? Sometimes I think I'm gonna pinch myself and wake up and all this will be a dream. A really hectic, sometimes miserable, sometimes exhilerating dream.

Also, I don't have to pay the difference in my plane ticket to D.C. this summer since I'm returning to a different airport. This is good news day. Except for the fact that I didn't get a care package from CFC and Kathryn did. What daf!!!???

I went to the Jumping Bean tonight before going to work. I had a nice talk with Steve the Barista. I'm Megan the News Editor. :) He wondered where the boys were and I reminded him it wasn't Thursday night yet. I reassured him we would, indeed, be there en masse tomorrow night. That reminds me... I owe Joe money from last week.

In the beginning...

In less than a month, I'll be in Washington, DC. It's hard to enjoy the cornfields of Indiana with such prospects awaiting me. I should be homeworking, but I keep daydreaming of DC adventures. I'm setting up this blog for DC actually. I'll probably use it in Hong Kong as well and DEFINITELY in Ireland. Ok. Testing, testing.
